A Chocolate Debate

We've been to three parades this summer, and our candy supply is overflowing, particularly with dum dum suckers of all varieties, countless tootsie rolls of all shapes and sizes, a few loose pencils from election candidates, and broken peppermints (what kid wants a peppermint?!).

That brings me to my question...

In college, my roommate and I had a discussion about tootsie rolls, you know, those chocolate flavored nougats (we were definitely serious scholars).

Can a Tootsie Roll satisfy a chocolate craving?

Not sure if this is "blog worthy" but it got me thinking when I was eating a few today.

All it can do is delay it for a while.

gonna have to say absolutely not.

the tootsie roll would imply 'chocolate' just enough to remind me how unfair it was that i was eating a tootsie roll instead of chocolate.

then i would eat an expensive cocoa truffle just to prove to the tootsie roll that it doesn't run my life. HA. Take that, chewy, indescribable, non-chocolate-thing!

feels good to be a winner, i'd say to myself.

yeah, I have to agree. Chocolate, and chocolate flavor are very different things. I like tootsie rolls, but if I have a craving, I need the real stuff.

I am gonna have to say a big fat negative to that. Not even close. You can have like ten tootsie rolls for like a gram of fat. that just shows how unlike chocolate they are.
